UPDATE: For the health and safety of our visitors and staff due to COVID-19, Basement Tours will not be available until further notice. Please check this page for updates as our operations evolve during this time. Feel free to call us at 603-476-5900 with any questions.
Join us as we discover the secrets of the Castle’s basement – the physical plant and work hub for domestic staff in this state-of-the-art mountaintop mansion built in 1914.
The one hour guided tour will cover the highlights of the Castle’s unique construction in 1914, the ultra-modern appliances and amenities enjoyed by owners Tom and Olive Plant, and a glimpse into the lives of the servants who helped run and manage the Lucknow Estate in the 1910s and 1920s.
This tour requires navigation of two flights of stairs and is not handicap accessible. Additionally, in the interest of their own safety and comfort, children under the age of 5 are not permitted on the basement tour.
Listen below to an interview with NH1’s Pat Kelly about what makes the Castle basement such a special and unique place to visit.
(Note: interview begins at 52-second mark)
