We are partnering with Moultonborough Public Library and the Friends of the Library to bring you a delightful evening with local authors at Castle in the Clouds! Mingle with authors over hors d’oeuvres and drinks while taking in the beautiful views from the Winnipesaukee Room. Then, our guest speaker, author Ken Sheldon, will discuss his book Deep Water—Murder, Scandal and Intrigue in a New England Town, which is set in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. You will also have the opportunity to purchase books directly from the authors and have them signed. Authors in attendance include Cristina Ashjian, Bob Fleck, Marty Grover, Karel Hayes, Mj Pettengill, Jane Rice, Autumn Siders, and Chris Ulm.
Hors d’oeuvres and one drink of choice (beer, wine, or soft drink) are included in the price of admission. A cash bar will also be available.

Kenneth M. Sheldon is the author of the true-crime book Deep Water—Murder, Scandal and Intrigue in a New England Town. In the closing days of World War I, William K. Dean was brutally murdered and dumped in a cistern on his New Hampshire farm. Was the murderer his wife, an elderly woman suffering from dementia? Was it his best friend, a powerful judge and banker? Or was it his former tenant, a wealthy playboy rumored to be a German spy? Deep Water is the first in-depth examination into a murder that shocked the entire region.
In addition to Deep Water, Ken has written suspense novels under the pen name Michael Manley, a series of superhero middle-grade novels for children, and Welcome to Frost Heaves, a collection of stories written as Yankee humorist Fred Marple. Ken’s articles has been featured in many publications ranging from Acoustic Guitar to Yankee Magazine. He has appeared on New Hampshire Chronicle, and on stage, the radio, and television. Ken will share background on the murder, the writing of the book, and the trials and tribulations of writing.
The program will be held in the Winnipesaukee Room, which is on the second floor of the Carriage House. To access the Carriage House, please use our entrance (GPS compatible) located at:

Take Ossipee Park Road and bear right through the open fields, past the Café to our main visitor parking lot on the left. The Carriage House is located just beyond the parking lot. Accessible parking is available directly across from the Carriage House.

This program will be held rain or shine. The Castle reserves the right to cancel if there are fewer than 10 total participants registered. If the Castle cancels the program, you will be notified via phone or email and a refund for your ticket purchase will be made available.
