Story Trail

New for 2026, Castle in the Clouds has installed a Story Trail! Enjoy walking through nature as a storybook unfolds. This year, “Ear Worm!” by local author Jo Knowles, with illustrations by Galia Bernstein is our featured book. Each year, a different children’s book will be featured.

Where to Start:

The Trail goes from the area leading up to the old horse barn (near the Cold Springs Trail head) and continues towards the Picnic Pavilion and past Shannon Pond, ending at Cafe in the Clouds.

What is a Story Trail:

A Story Walk is an innovative form of storytelling where a children’s book is displayed in sections along a walking path, allowing participants to read as they walk from one page to the next. The concept originated from the Kellogg Hubbard Library and has since spread to libraries, museums, and parks. It provides children with an interactive and engaging way to enjoy books while connecting with the outdoors.
