This event will take place rain or shine. If this event is cancelled by Castle in the Clouds due to extreme weather or extenuating circumstances, refunds will be provided for ticket purchases.

Cocktail Party on the Lucknow Lawn

Host your own elegant lawn party on the Lawns of Lucknow. Up to 20 people will be transported to Lucknow via our charming trolleys, where you will enjoy cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Carriage House Restaurant staff. Enjoy watching the sunset over Lake Winnipesaukee and be transported back in time to what it must have been like to live at Lucknow. Must be redeemed before 8/31/2022 with at least three weeks notice before the event date. The fair market value is $3,000.

Dinner in Lucknow’s Dining Room

Enjoy an elegant dinner in Lucknow’s fully restored Dining Room! Up to 6 people can experience what it must have been like to dine with Tom and Olive Plant. Enjoy pre-dinner cocktails on the Lawn of Lucknow followed by a full meal including salad, dinner, and dessert at the dining room table. Illuminated by historic light fixtures you will be transported back to a simpler time as you enjoy this unique Castle experience. Must be redeemed before 8/31/2022. Some menu limitations including only clear liquids while inside Lucknow Mansion. Must schedule at least three weeks in advance of redemption. The fair market value is $5,000.

Carriage House Dinner Party

Enjoy a private meal for up to 8 people, prepared and served by the Carriage House Restaurant’s Executive Chef. You and your guests will enjoy an intimate dinner on the Carriage House Terrace, or next to the cozy Carriage House fireplace. Featuring pre-meal hors d’oeuvres, a salad, dinner, dessert, and drinks, our Chef will work with you to create a unique menu for this special occasion. Must be redeemed before 8/31/2022, with at least three weeks notice before the event. The fair market value is $2,500.

Holiday Party at the Carriage House

Celebrate the holidays with Castle style! Enjoy a holiday celebration for up to 50 people in the beautifully decorated Winnipesaukee Room at the Carriage House. Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks are included and will help set the stage for a magical time with family, friends, or colleagues as you celebrate the season. Can be redeemed during the holiday season of 2021 or 2022. The fair market value is $2,750.

Director’s Tour & Cocktails

Enjoy the beauty and splendor of an evening at Lucknow! Up to 10 people can enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour with our Executive Director as well as take in the sunset while savoring a cocktail on the Lawn of Lucknow. Experience the beauty of the mansion illuminated only with its historic light fixtures and truly immerse yourself in what it must have been like to live in the Lucknow Mansion. Must be redeemed before 8/31/2022 on a mutually agreeable date. The fair market value is $500. 

Curator’s Tour & Lunch

Join Lucknow Mansion’s Curator for an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at our collection of artifacts from Tom and Olive Plant, and their time living at Lucknow. Learn about the research and care taken to ensure the Mansion is restored in a historically accurate fashion. Finish your day at the Castle with lunch for four at The Carriage House Restaurant or Cafe in the Clouds. Must be redeemed before 8/31/2022 on a mutually agreeable date. The fair market value is $300.

Sunset Picnic 

Host your own perfect picnic on the Lawns of Lucknow. Up to six people will be transported to Lucknow Mansion by our charming trolleys to enjoy a catered picnic and drinks while settling in to enjoy the stunning sunset and unparalleled views of Lake Winnipesaukee. Must be redeemed before 8/31/2022, with at least three weeks notice before the event. The fair market value is $500.  

Fishing for Trout in Shannon Pond

The Rainbow Trout that live in Shannon Pond fascinate and inspire Castle visitors each summer. Now is your chance to test your angling skills and land one of these magnificent fish. The winner will be allowed to catch one of the trout, take measurements and photos, then release it back into Shannon Pond. Must be redeemed before 8/31/2022 on a mutually agreed date. The fair market value is $300. 

This year for the comfort of our guests, we’ve made the decision to host the dinner, dancing, and auction portion of the evening in the Great Waters tent situated in our field. This accommodation allows for us to have open-air movement, and spread out.

This tent is 60’x120′ and about 35′ tall. Spanning 7,200 acres, this tent is more comparable to a building than a tent.

Will I still get to visit the Castle? 

Yes! We’ve designed this evening so that you’ll be able to enjoy a cocktail party on the Castle Lawn!

Can I tour the Castle? 

Yes! Lucknow Mansion will be open for your perusal, with our restoration projects on full display!

I want to sit with my friends but don’t want a full table, how can I request this? 

When purchasing your tickets, add in the comments section who you want to sit with, first and last name. If you’ve already purchased your tickets, you can email Mackenzie at programs@castleintheclouds.org with the request.

I have food allergies – who should I tell?

If you have food allergies, please make Mackenzie aware via email, programs@castleintheclouds.org, or phone at 603-476-5410 prior to the event.

What do you mean by tent?

Great Waters has set up their large event tent in our fields this year for the concert series “Concerts in the Clouds”. This event is about 35 feet tall in the center, the sides are 17 feet tall, and the dimensions of the tent are 60’x120′. This tent is the size of a building and built from the highest quality materials. With 7,200 sq.ft. there’s plenty of room to drink, dance and dine with a stunning vantage point for sunset. If there is poor weather, we’re able to close the sides of the tent and stay dry!

What if it’s raining? 

If it’s raining cocktail hour will be moved to the first floor of the Carriage House. Tours of Lucknow Mansion would still be available for your enjoyment. Dinner and dancing would still be hosted in the Great Waters tent in the field, we’ll close the sides of the tent as needed. If the weather is more extreme, then a game-time decision would be made and shared with ticket holders directly!

What about bugs?

Since this event is widely taking place outdoors, we’ll have bug spray available for your use. Additionally, we’re using ultrasonic bug repellent that will help deter bugs from joining us under the tent!

Where do I park? 

Please park in the horse pasture across from the Great Waters tent. We’ll have lighting available as the evening grows darker. Please walk over to the Great Waters tent to check-in.

I need accessible parking & accommodations, where do I go? 

There will be accessible parking marked next to the Great Waters tent. A pathway to the tent will be marked and lit. Please let us know if you need additional accommodations when purchasing your tickets, or by emailing Mackenzie Padula, programs@castleintheclouds.org.

I need to use the restroom – where can I go if we’re in a tent? 

There will be portable potties located near the tent for your use.

There is still a pandemic, what precautions & accommodations are you taking?

Here at Castle in the Clouds, we take the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously. You can visit our COVID-19 response page for a clear outline of property-wide plans and procedures in place. We have planned the gala to utilize the Great Waters tent so we can accommodate social distancing, and have a safe, covered outdoor space to party and celebrate. Masks will be available to use at your discretion for the trolley ride to Lucknow Mansion, and anywhere else you prefer to wear them. Hand sanitizer will be placed throughout the event for your disposal.

Where does the money go to? 

Castle Preservation Society is a private, non-profit (501(c)3) organization created for the sole purpose of restoring, preserving, and sharing the Castle in the Clouds property! This Gala is our largest fundraiser of the year, and will go directly to our next restoration project, which will be revealed at the Gala!

Are there other ways for us to get involved during the Gala beyond the Live Auction? 

Yes! Aside from the Live Auction, we will have other ways for you to donate and get involved! We want everyone to feel welcome and included in this fundraiser!

I’m unable to attend, but would still like to support – how can I do so?

We appreciate any and all donations made to our property! If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to donate, Adopt an Artifact, become a member, or volunteer!
