Join us on winter hikes at the Castle in the Clouds Preservation Area and learn about the history of the property and the nature you will encounter along the way. For more information about each of the hikes offered, please see the chart below.

Hikers should be prepared with appropriate clothing layers for winter weather conditions including warm winter boots, microspikes or traction cleats or snowshoes, and hiking poles for stability. Bring water, food, and snacks for yourself.

Please meet for this hike at the picnic pavilions by Shannon Pond. Hiker parking is available at the top of Ossipee Park Road just past Maple Lodge, and also in the unpaved areas across from the pond and Café in the Clouds.

This program is weather-dependent, and the Castle reserves the right to cancel if there are fewer than 4 total participants registered. If the Castle cancels the program, you will be notified via phone or email the day before the hike.
