Exploring the Art of Watercolor Class

Enjoy an in-depth exploration of the art of watercolor styles and techniques! This workshop will illuminate and provide inspiration for the fine art of watercolor painting. Participants will practice various techniques using professional media with Carole Shea, an experienced watercolor artist/instructor.
This informative workshop is held in the Winnipesaukee Room amid spectacular views of the lake and mountains.
This class is intended for adults. Space is limited to 12 people to give Carole an opportunity to interact with everyone. Pre-registration is required. All ticket sales are final; no refunds, transfers to other days, or exchanges.
The workshop is split into two sessions, with a break for lunch in between. Participants are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or you may choose to enjoy Winter Lunch in the Carriage House Restaurant. If you do choose to visit the restaurant, please reserve the 12:30pm seating here. Please note: you must make a reservation, as the restaurant does not accept walk-ins for Winter Lunch.
The morning session will include:
The history and art of watercolor, presented through slides and original artwork.
Different paint mediums, types of papers, brushes, and equipment.
Gear to consider when working outside, ‘en plein air’, as opposed to inside.
Following the lunch break, Carole will lead a demonstration and then invite participants to experiment for themselves with a range of watercolor mediums and painting techniques.
All supplies, paint, paper, brushes, palettes, etc. will be provided. Participants can take home their technique samples along with a watercolor palette of paint colors for future inspiration and exploration.
