SUMMARY:Beginner's Watercolor Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Update: This program was originally scheduled for Saturday\, March 23\, but was moved to Sunday\, March 24\, due to the predicted snowstorm. \nExplore the art of watercolor styles and techniques! This workshop will illuminate and provide inspiration for the fine art of watercolor (WC) painting. Participants will practice various WC techniques using professional WC media with Carole Shea\, an experienced watercolor artist/instructor. This informative workshop is held in the Winnipesaukee Room amid spectacular views of the lake and mountains. \nThis class is intended for adults. Space is limited to 12 people to give Carole an opportunity to interact with everyone. Pre-registration is required. All ticket sales are final; no refunds\, transfers to other days\, or exchanges. \nThis workshop includes: \n\nReview and discussion of the history and art of watercolors through slides and\noriginal artwork\, to recognize and enhance appreciation of their color\, transparency\nand beauty.\nPresentation of WC paint mediums\, from WC tubes\, to pans to WC pencils.\nReview of types of papers\, brushes\, and equipment for effective results with WC.\nAlso\, what gear to consider when working outside\, ‘en plein air’\, as opposed to inside.\nBreak for Light Refreshments\nAn instructor-led demonstration and participant’s hands-on experiments with a range\nof watercolor mediums and painting techniques. All supplies\, paint\, paper\, brushes\,\npalettes\, etc. will be provided. Participants can take home their technique samples\nalong with a WC palette of paint colors for future inspiration and exploration.

You and your team will have to race against the clock\, all while maintaining honour and dignity\, in order to succeed. \n“The Interview” is a fun\, fast paced show that allows the audience to dive into the life of a servant in the past. DESCRIPTION:Disobey your mother and look at the sun…through a hydrogen-alpha telescope! Each Monday\, members of the NH Astronomical Society will set up their telescopes in the field by Shannon Pond. Feel free to drop by and speak with the astronomers\, learn about the sun\, and try out their telescopes anytime between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.  \nSolar Gazing requires clear skies. In the event that it is raining or overcast\, there will be an opportunity to chat with the astronomers in the Winnipesaukee Room on the second floor of the Carriage House instead.  \nThis is a free program and registration is encouraged but not required.

Whether you are a beginner artist or have experience painting with watercolor\, there is always something new to learn. This is an opportunity to paint from a new point of view and learn new techniques.   \nWe will work with professional transparent pigments and beautiful 100% cotton paper. If you wish\, bring your favorite brushes\, but all necessary supplies will be provided. Invite your friends\, or come meet new artists!   \nThis class is intended for adults. Space is limited to 12 people in order to give Pat a chance to work with all the participants. SUMMARY:Hikers Club: Bald Knob via Turtleback Mtn Trail
DESCRIPTION:Led by an experienced volunteer hiker\, this week’s hike is to Bald Knob via the Turtleback Mt Trail. This is a moderate to difficult level hike that is about 7 miles and has an elevation climb of approximately 750′. This is a free program\, though registration is required. \nPlease wear appropriate footwear for hiking and dress for the weather. Bring sunscreen\, bug spray\, and snacks as desired. Please note\, you will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival. While dogs on leashes are usually permitted on the trails\, for the comfort of all attendees\, dogs are not allowed at this program.
