SUMMARY:Hikers Club: Shannon Brook Trail\, Brook Trail\, & Scenic Auto Road
DESCRIPTION:Led by an experienced volunteer hiker\, this week’s hike is the Shannon Brook Trail\, Brook Trail\, and the Scenic Auto Road. This is a moderate level hike that is about 4.8 miles. This is a free program\, though registration is required.\nPlease wear appropriate footwear for hiking and dress for the weather. Bring sunscreen\, bug spray\, and snacks as desired. Please note\, you will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival. While dogs on leashes are usually permitted on the trails\, for the comfort of all attendees\, dogs are not allowed at this program.

DESCRIPTION:Join our head gardener\, Gretchen Large\, in touring both Lucknow’s historic and modern garden landscapes\, and leave with some general gardening tips and tricks for you to use at home! Gretchen is excited to share her passion for gardening – displayed in the beautiful and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces around the Castle – with you. She even has her own business called The Random Gardener! \nThe gardens are constantly changing throughout the season\, and no two tours are the same. We invite you to come back multiple times – there is always something new to see! \nThis tour includes walking through our gardens. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. \nPlease arrive five minutes early to check in at the Carriage House. From there\, you will be transported up to Lucknow Mansion for the tour.  \nAll ticket sales are final; no refunds\, transfers to other days\, or exchanges.

DESCRIPTION:Get in touch with your inner creativity\, inspired by the natural beauty of Castle in the Clouds! Ever let nature soothe you\, inform\, prompt\, even consume you for a half hour or an hour? In this workshop\, you can do just that! We will use directed prompts\, journal writing and poetry to help us experience the natural world and its gifts. We will spend our time walking slowly\, sitting in stillness and stopping at special sights that call to you along the Brook Trail. This workshop involves moderate hiking. \nNo writing experience is necessary\, only a willingness to explore. Please bring a small notepad and pencil or cell phone that records\, dress for the weather\, and wear appropriate footwear. You might consider bringing a hat\, bug repellent and a small cushion to sit on. \nAll ticket sales are final; no refunds\, transfers to other days\, or exchanges.
