Full Moon Winter Hike & Snowshoe

Saturday March 11th
6:30pm – 8:00pm
The Meadows by Shannon Pond
FREE to the Public, Donations Welcome

Due to the popularity of our first Full Moon Hike earlier in February, we are teaming up with the Moultonborough Recreation Department to host another one! Join us for a casual hike or snowshoe around Shannon Pond by the light of the Full Moon.

The event is a self-guided trail around the pond, making a loop back to the starting point. Guests can take their time on the trail as it is self-guided. The proposed hiking trail is easy, family friendly and less than a mile. An extended trail will be available for those who want a long hike than the loop around the pond. Wear warm, winter hiking boots or bring your snowshoes for this fun adventure if the weather allows! Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp as it will be dark on the property.   This is a great way to get the family out for some good old fresh air!

After the hike warm up by a fire pit and enjoy hot cocoa and goodies compliments of Castle in the Clouds and the Moultonborough Rec Department. We are also planning on bringing a telescope to the field to view the night sky; feel free to bring your own if you’d like!

This free event is open to the public. Donations are appreciated to help us continue to provide programs similar to this in the future.

Remember to use Ossipee Park Road (the main entrance will be closed). Park in hiker parking located across from the entrance to the bottling plant, or in our main parking lot and hike to Shannon Pond to begin your Full Moon Hiking Adventure!

This event will take place “snow or shine” – we will cancel in the event that weather conditions are severe enough that we are unable to clear roads, and will post cancellation notices on the homepage of our website as well as our Facebook Page.

The event is put on in partnership with the Moultonborough Recreation Department
